Russian manicure — also called European, combined, or dry e-file manicure. Same technique, four names.
What makes it different
In a classic manicure your hands are soaked first, and the skin around the nail is trimmed away with nippers. A Russian manicure never touches water. The nail plate stays dry, which means it stays fully visible — and what can be seen can be worked precisely.
The cuticle is lifted gently, and the thin layer of dead tissue on the plate is smoothed away with a small e-file bit, under magnification. Nothing is cut off. Skin that is cleaned rather than trimmed grows back soft, instead of firming up a little more with every visit.
Because the plate is dry and readable, gel can be laid right up to the skin without ever flooding onto it. That single detail is why the coating holds for four to five weeks instead of two, and why the regrowth line reads as a clean edge rather than a visible gap.
It is slower work. A visit here is booked for the length it actually takes, not for the length that fits the most guests into a day — and there is only one chair, so the time is yours.
How a visit actually goes
We look at your hands first
Nail shape, plate condition, how the last coating came off. If your nails need something other than what you booked, Natalia says so at the table — and the price changes with it, before anything starts.
The work itself, dry
No basin, no soaking, no shared water. Files and bits that touch you are single-use or sterilised in an autoclave. The cuticle area is cleaned under magnification, which is why it takes as long as it does.
Coating laid to the edge
Gel is built in thin layers up to the skin line, then sealed. You leave with hands that look like nothing was done to them — except that they look better.

What is a Russian manicure?

Is the e-file safe for my nails?
In trained hands, yes. The bit removes the thin layer of dead tissue sitting on the plate, not the plate itself. That is exactly what the training and the magnification are for — and it is also why this work cannot be rushed.
How long does the coating last?
Four to five weeks for most guests. If it starts lifting inside two weeks, something went wrong in the prep, and we would rather see you again and fix it.
How long does an appointment take?
The manicure on its own is an hour. With gel coating it is 90 minutes. Both are booked at their real length, so no one is rushed at the end.

Natalia works in English, Ukrainian and Russian. The studio is on East Michigan Street in SoDo, a few minutes from Downtown Orlando, Delaney Park and Thornton Park.
