The technique
What a Russian manicure actually is
Russian manicure — also called European or combined manicure — is dry work. Your hands are never soaked, and the skin around the nail isn't trimmed away. Instead the cuticle is gently lifted, and the fine layer of dead tissue on the nail plate is smoothed away with a small e-file bit, under magnification.
It sounds like a small distinction, and it changes everything that follows. Skin that is cleaned rather than cut grows back soft. And because the nail plate is dry and fully visible, the gel can be laid right up to the edge of the skin without ever flooding it.
That is why the coating holds for four to five weeks instead of two, and why the line of regrowth reads as a clean margin rather than an obvious gap.

The hands behind the studio
Natalia Portna
Natalia has spent more than ten years at the nail table, and she will tell you it stopped being a job somewhere along the way.
She began in Ukraine with a small studio of her own, refined the European technique over three years in Poland, and opened Studio Beauty Box in Florida in 2022. Thousands of clients later, the thing she still cares about most is how you feel when you leave.

How is a Russian manicure different from a regular one?
It's done dry, with no soaking, and the cuticle is gently cleaned with a fine e-file rather than trimmed. That lets the coating sit right up to the skin, which is why it holds four to five weeks and why the skin stays soft as it grows back.
Is a dry pedicure the same as a Russian pedicure?
Yes — the same service. Russian pedicure is what it tends to be called here in the States; dry pedicure is the accurate name, and it describes what makes it different. No basin and no soaking means no shared water, which is simply safer. The skin is also read dry, exactly as it behaves when you walk, so heel work is done where it's actually needed.
How long does the coating really last?
Four to five weeks for most guests. If it starts lifting inside two weeks, something wasn't right in the preparation, and we would much rather see you back so we can put it right.
Does the e-file damage the nail?
Not in trained hands. The bit smooths away the thin layer of dead tissue on the plate, not the plate itself. That's what the training and the magnification are for.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Just let us know at least 24 hours ahead and there's nothing to worry about. Inside 24 hours, and for missed appointments, the full service price applies — the slot was held just for you, and it's usually too late to offer it to someone else.
I have gel from another salon. Is that a problem?
Not at all, and it's a very common one. Removal is a listed service at $20 — just add a little extra time when you book and we'll take care of it.
